BALM – Proven as one of the healthiest approaches to bread in the world.

Based in the walled gardens of Dr. Vanessa Kimbell's beautiful Victorian home in rural Northamptonshire, UK, we tutor individuals and train bakers and healthcare professionals in Baking as Lifestyle Medicine (BALM). Personalising bread to your lifestyle, gut microbiome, and unique genetics for optimal health—tailoring fermentation, fibre, and diversity so that your daily bread becomes the foundation of your health.

Your Engagement with the Programme – Interpreting the Research Task

Part go the programme asks that you personally engage with the practice of contributing to the Baking as Lifestyle Medicine Protocol ( BALM) and transform the research ( academic knowledge) into a practical application that can be applied and used in real life.   We call it eating the evidence.  This does not have to be an ingredient.  It can be the way you eat bread, or the way you gather your ingredients, or the community you engage with or even the joy of baking.  The form b below has been designed specifically to get you to think in terms of applying the research.

So often we read a study or research and the information with in is extraordinary, but how do we turn this into something that our patients actually incorporate into their habits and even day.

The information you provide here will shortly be used as a new open database, and your interpretation will be used.  This is activism.

You will also be asked to review the studies that you use in your graduations tasks, so you may well used the submitted reviews as part of your final exam / application for the prescription license.

If you are new to looking at the research then please see the A guide on how to approach the research papers
