Carrot Pizza topping

Carrot Pizza Base Recipe

Not everyone likes tomato or gets on with tomato so this carrot pizza base not only provides a unique and delicious flavour but also supports gut health with its blend of fibre, healthy fats, and probiotic-rich vinegar. So this carrot pizza base is not only delicious but also is also incredibly nourishing for the gut.

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams of cooked carrots, well-drained
  • 2 good pinches of sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of good quality live vinegar
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of either caraway, fennel, cumin, or aniseed seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of maple syrup or honey

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Carrots:
    • Ensure your cooked carrots are very well drained. Any excess water can affect the texture of your base.
    • Smash the carrots using a fork. The texture should be rough, not completely smooth.
  2. Combine Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, combine the smashed carrots with sea salt, olive oil, live vinegar, and black pepper.
    • Add the seeds (caraway, fennel, cumin, or aniseed) and the maple syrup or honey.
    • Stir all the ingredients together until well combined.
  3. Using the Base:
    • This mixture should be enough for around 8 pizza bases, depending on their size.
    • Spread the carrot mixture evenly over your pizza bases before adding your desired toppings.
