When you take part in one of our courses, we may take photos or make videos of the people taking part, as well as the equipment and food we are working with, for use on our website and social media or in our books, literature or advertising.
Even if just your foot is in an image we photograph, record or film, we are legally required to have you sign a Release Form to confirm that the material created is the property of The Sourdough School and The Sourdough Club, and that you agree to being photographed, recorded and or filmed. We also use this form to ask you to confirm that you are happy to be mentioned in Vanessa’s doctorate.
We treat your privacy as one of our utmost priorities; we will always give you plenty of notice and time to move away if you do not want to be photographed or filmed.
Please read the information below as you will be asked to sign in agreement if you visit us.
It is legally worded but very straightforward. However, if there is anything you are not comfortable with, please let us know.
Also – we have a policy of not allowing mobile phones or cameras in The School when teaching classes. This is so you will not be photographed or filmed by another course member. If any member of the course wishes to take photos or videos, they must seek the prior approval of the course leader and the express permission of any other course member before beginning recording or photographing.

Photography, Audio & Film Release Form for The Sourdough School & The Sourdough Club
In consideration of my engagement as talent, and for other good and valuable consideration herein acknowledged as received, I hereby grant the following rights and permissions to The Sourdough School and The Sourdough Club (“Production Company”), their heirs, legal representatives, and assigns, those for whom the Production Company is acting, and those acting with their authority and permission. They have the irrevocable, perpetual and unrestricted right and permission to take, use, re-use, publish, and republish footage of me or in which I may be included, in whole or in part, or composite or distorted in character or form, without restriction as to changes or alterations, in conjunction with my own or a fictitious name, or reproductions thereof in colour or otherwise, made through any medium at their studios or elsewhere, and in any and all media now or hereafter known, specifically including but not limited to print media and distribution over the internet for illustration, promotion, art, editorial, advertising, trade, or any other purpose whatsoever.
I specifically consent to the digital compositing or distortion of the footage, including without restriction any changes or alterations as to colour, size, shape, perspective, context, foreground or background. I also consent to the use of any published matter in conjunction with such footage. I hereby waive any right that I may have to inspect or approve the finished product or products and the advertising copy or other matter that may be used in connection with them or the use to which they may be applied.
I hereby release, discharge, and agree to hold harmless the Production Company, their heirs, legal representatives, and assigns, and all persons acting under their permission or authority or those for whom they are acting, from any liability by virtue of any blurring, distortion, alteration, optical illusion, or use in composite form, whether intentional or otherwise, that may occur or be produced in the recording of such footage or in any subsequent processing of them, as well as any publication of them, including without limitation any claims for libel or violation of any right of publicity or privacy.
In line with GDPR legislation, I understand that Production Company will hold my data provided in this form on secure off-site and local servers, that it will not be used for marketing purposes or any other use, other than proof of legal consent to being filmed and my name or words may be mentioned. I understand that at any point I may request copies of or the full deletion of my data from The Sourdough School database.
I hereby warrant that I am of full age and have the right to contract in my own name. I have read the above authorisation, release, and agreement, prior to its execution, and I am fully familiar with the contents of this document. This document shall be binding upon me and my heirs, legal representatives, and assigns.
