The Sourdough School

BALM – Proven as one of the healthiest approaches to bread in the world.

Based in the walled gardens of Dr. Vanessa Kimbell's beautiful Victorian home in rural Northamptonshire, UK, we tutor individuals and train bakers and healthcare professionals in Baking as Lifestyle Medicine (BALM). Personalising bread to your lifestyle, gut microbiome, and unique genetics for optimal health—tailoring fermentation, fibre, and diversity so that your daily bread becomes the foundation of your health.

About

I enjoy to eat sourdough bread with a mature cheddar and homemade Chilli ? Jam

How I use BALM Protocol

Once I have graduated I would like to use the knowledge I have gained to teach patients to make sourdough bread.
I work as a baking teacher for a charity that helps people with mental illness, autism, learning disabilities or brain injuries, we provide people with opportunities to gain skills and build confidence. We supply a unique environment, allowing our learners to develop their skills in a supported setting, which is open to the public, and so I would like to teach bread making as Lifestyle Medicine where I work in Healthcare as I am the Hub Lead for Food & Health. I would like to use the programme to run bread making workshops within the department.
