Borrowing a Bike

Borrowing Bikes at The Sourdough School

I try to cycle whenever possible, it is a lively area, and there is a lovely reservoir that you can cycle around. I am pleased to offer our students the opportunity to borrow a bike during their time at The Sourdough School. We have a selection of family bikes, including a men’s large Pashley, and 3 vintage style ladies’ bikes, one with with back pedal brakes. These bikes are for slow gentle riding on roads, and available on a first-come, first-served basis, and we require at least three weeks’ notice if you wish to borrow one. They are not used everyday and we will need time to service the bike and checked over for your use, for which there is a mandatory £65 service fee. Pick up is on your first day of the course and return is on the last day.

Please note that while there is no additional cost for borrowing the bike, they are family bikes, and are used occasionally, however this is offered entirely at your own risk. The Sourdough School accepts no liability for any accidents, injuries, or damages that may occur while using the bike. It is your responsibility to bring and wear a helmet and high-visibility clothing for your safety. Additionally, the bikes are not electric. You must also remember that we drive on the left hand side!

To ensure the bikes remain in good condition, you are required keep them indoors overnight as the leather saddles are not suitable to be left outside. We can provide a lock for your convenience.

If the bike is damaged during your use, you will be responsible for covering the cost of any necessary repairs or, if the bike is beyond repair, the cost of replacement.

By borrowing a bike, you agree to these terms and conditions.
