White sourdough bread with butter and peanut butter. I prefer fresh bread to toast any day. I bake for myself as a form of mindfulness but also for friends and family.
That includes a regular order of sourdough doggy biscuits for my canine friends. I mostly live on my own so I have to give my baked goods away to neighbours or I'd be the size of a house.
My Work
I am based in Norfolk. Still working freelance pretty much full time but I regularly visit London. I am not a community worker I am a Conservator but it wouldn't let me put that!!
Passionate about Baking as Lifestyle Medicine
I have suffered from IBS and have also had Bowel Cancer. My gut has always been my weak point in my constitution. I didn't eat bread for years until I discovered that I could eat good sourdough bread which was a relief as I'm a breadaholic. To be able to bake bread and other baked goods that I can enjoy but are also good for my health is marvellous. Life is too short not to eat cake but I have always wanted to make and eat healthy cake.
My Community
My community are all foodies and already converted to good bread. I have just bought Vanessa's 10 minute book and sent it to 3 people out of the blue. People that I know are interested in baking but haven't really turned on to all the health benefits, hopefully to encourage them in the right direction.
How I use BALM Protocol
I am already helping a couple of family members to get into baking. They are fed up with paying £4.99 for a sourdough loaf however good it is!
