The Sourdough School

BALM – Proven as one of the healthiest approaches to bread in the world.

Based in the walled gardens of Dr. Vanessa Kimbell's beautiful Victorian home in rural Northamptonshire, UK, we tutor individuals and train bakers and healthcare professionals in Baking as Lifestyle Medicine (BALM). Personalising bread to your lifestyle, gut microbiome, and unique genetics for optimal health—tailoring fermentation, fibre, and diversity so that your daily bread becomes the foundation of your health.

End of Term Feedback Form

Learning Objective

Course Feedback

  1. Ongoing Feedback: The Sourdough School encourages feedback throughout the course, not just at the end. This proactive approach allows for continuous improvement and adaptation based on participant input.
  2. Types of Feedback Appreciated: Whether it's about lectures, lessons, website functionality, or content, all forms of feedback are welcome. This includes suggestions for more content on a particular subject, reporting technical issues, spotting typos, or requesting clarification or further development on certain topics.
  3. Direct Communication: Feedback forms are directly reviewed by Libiana, and by Vanessa, who will take necessary actions to enhance the course or the community library based on the feedback received.
  4. Patience Requested: It’s important to understand that while the school is committed to addressing issues, some fixes may take a few days to implement.
  5. Regarding Sourdough Formulas: It’s noted that formulas on the website might differ from those in The Sourdough School book. This is intentional, as there are many variations to every formula. Students are encouraged to experiment and find the version that works best for them.
  6. Feedback Procedure: Please use the designated feedback form for any website-related issues or suggestions. Direct emails about the website are not encouraged as there is a specific procedure in place for handling such feedback.

Learning Outcome

What do we hope to achieve through feedback?

Your Voice Matters: First and foremost, we want you to know that your feedback is essential to us both good and bad. It helps us understand your experience and what we can do to make it even better. Every comment, suggestion, or concern you raise is given careful consideration.

Acknowledging Your Feedback: When you provide feedback, we ensure it is promptly acknowledged. Our team takes the time to read and understand your perspectives. You're not just another student to us; you're a valued member of our community whose opinions help shape our school.

Taking Action: We diligently work on addressing the feedback you provide. Whether it's a suggestion for course improvement, a technical issue on our website, or an aspect of the course material, we take each point seriously. We aim to resolve issues swiftly and efficiently, ensuring your learning experience is smooth and enjoyable.

Keeping You Informed: After receiving your feedback, we will keep you updated on the actions taken. If your feedback has led to a change or improvement in our course or services, we'll be sure to let you know. This way, you can see the direct impact of your contribution.

Continuous Improvement: Your feedback is a key component of our continuous improvement process. It helps us to refine our curriculum, enhance our teaching methods, and improve our overall service.

Our Gratitude: We are grateful for the time and effort you take to share your thoughts with us. Your feedback not only helps us but also benefits the wider Sourdough School community.

Enhancing Course Quality: Feedback helps us to identify areas where the course content can be improved, updated, or expanded. This includes both the practical aspects of sourdough baking and the theoretical knowledge shared in the courses.

Identifying Technical Issues: Any technical glitches or errors on the website, in course materials, or in online delivery systems can be quickly addressed once they are identified through feedback.

Adapting to Student Needs: Understanding the learning experiences of students helps tailor the course to better suit their needs. This could involve adjusting the pace of the course, the style of instruction, or the resources provided.

Fostering Engagement: Feedback provides insights into what students enjoy most about the course and what they find most valuable, allowing the school to focus on these aspects and further engage students.

Supporting Inclusivity and Accessibility: Feedback is crucial in making sure that the course is accessible and inclusive, taking into account diverse learning needs and backgrounds, including considerations for neurodiversity - something very close to Dr Kimbell's heart!
