About
I have two favorite ways to eat bread. The first, I love in the form of Challah as it reminds me of my family and joyous moments celebrating with them. My mother is a phenomenal baker, and her Challahs always opened up our meals with something delicious and nurturing. The second, is a sourdough with butter, salt, and maybe some jam. I usually bake for my community, friends, family, etc. Usually, I tend towards sweet treats, like cookies, crumbles, and pies.
My Work
I am based in New York City. I have worked in cafes and in the corporate sector in the HR department for the past couple of years. I have to goals in the next few years- the first is to go back to school and get my masters in social work and the second is to open up my own cafe/coffee shop. These two goals seem quite aligned with this course and the intersections of health, physical, mental and emotional.
Passionate about Baking as Lifestyle Medicine
I am excited to learn more about food as medicine, and to develop a deeper understanding of how food is a vehicle to nourish the body, holistically. Especially, in an environment where there is an ever increasing distance between food and its sources.
My Community
I am hoping to bring this practice to my home and all of those that I welcome here, first. I hope to share my new knowledge with the folks I love and feel close to. Eventually, I hope to take this practice into other areas of my work, like a coffee shop/cafe or with folks that I work with upon completion of my studies.
How I use BALM Protocol
The expansion of knowledge around holistic bodily health is important. I hope to bring this awareness into my life, and use this practice as one of the anchors to healing and well-being. I hope to invite others into these processes of healing and transformation.
