About
I love eating freshly baked bread at any time, really. Accompanying a good homemade meal is definitely my favorite, though!
I cook and bake for family.
My Work
I live in Bozeman, Montana in the US. I do not have my own practice or bakery, I simply love to learn! My sister, Paige Giddings, told me about this course and I eagerly joined her for the spring session.
Passionate about Baking as Lifestyle Medicine
Generally, I am passionate about health and wellness. I love to learn about anything that can improve the human body and can bring us back closer to nature. If I am being honest, this is the first I’ve heard about baking as lifestyle medicine. From what I’ve read and how it sounds, I’d say I’m passionate to learn because I am passionate about the body and the earth. I am often frustrated in the grocery store buying bread because it is so difficult to find loaves that do not have a ton of oils and bad ingredients added. I also am interested in exploring gluten intolerance and why it has become increasingly common. Especially in the states, the quality of food can be so low that I believe there to be a correlation between this and celiac. I suppose I am passionate about Baking as Lifestyle Medicine because I would love to have more tools in my health arsenal to help both myself and others.
My Community
My community is a very health conscious one. I have family and friends who are passionate about the earth and the quality of their food. Specifically for me, I would love to use the knowledge learned in this course to help heal sickness in the people I love. They don’t always want to drink my healing smoothies and tonics, so if I could add some healing baked goods, I think that would really be helpful. I look forward to learning more about just how helpful bread can be to the gut and its microbiome. I think this could be revolutionary for me as well as for the people in my life.
How I use BALM Protocol
I hope to share this knowledge with everyone I can. I know too many people suffering from chronic illnesses and I hope that the information I learn in this course can be helpful to them. I also have had my own health struggles so I am always looking to learn more and understand the human body better. I plan to use this knowledge so I am more capable of using food in a way that is sacred and healing.
