About
With butter and cheese or toasted with marmalade. I mainly bake for family and friends but have sold bread. In 2022 I completed a 6 month detachment in Australia with work, as soon as I arrived I made my starter! Whilst there, I was approached by 3 colleagues and asked to run baking classes, we had great fun and I taught them some basic breads - life skills!
My Work
I’m a home baker really, I have sold bread at a couple of farmer’s markets and events but I mainly bake for friends and family. I love giving a warm loaf as a gift or giving a loaf to people to share. I often host lunches and parties for my neighbours, everyone gets ‘hands on’ and it has introduced a great community spirit and camaraderie in our small neighbourhood.
Passionate about Baking as Lifestyle Medicine
I only learnt about BALM recently and it really resonated with me. My mum is an alternative practitioner and we very much take a natural and holistic approach to health and healing. I love bread and baking and truly believe that we can heal ourselves through what we put into our bodies!
My Community
I have friends and colleagues that love sourdough bread, some acknowledge that it makes them feel better, but most prefer the flavour and think that it sounds posh. Very few people understand how our gut is central to so many systems. I believe that I can subtly educate people by nourishing them and letting them feel the difference!
How I use BALM Protocol
I will spread the word through feeding and nourishment! And keep practicing…
