About
I'm from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and I work as a health and wellness writer. I have a book that I'm hoping to publish soon and I have a one-year-old daughter who I love to bake for. I love reading, cooking, baking, and being outside as much as possible. We recently moved to Nashville, Tennessee so we've been getting to know the area.
My favorite way to eat bread is with a really good stew I make—and anything with everything seasoning makes me smile. I bake for my husband and daughter, I also share loaves with my friends and family whenever I can.
My Work
I live in Nashville, Tennessee and I bake in my home kitchen. I've always wanted to learn how to work more closely with flour, especially since I've gotten into making fresh pasta and ravioli this year. I bake a few loaves of bread every week—usually peasant bread or oatmeal bread.
Passionate about Baking as Lifestyle Medicine
Baking is one of the only times I find that my mind is truly quiet. I put so much love into everything I do, and baking is no exception. I always go into baking with intention and care, so this program seems perfect for me. I also know a good amount about holistic nutrition ( I went to the Institute for Integrative Nutrition) and love sharing my findings in my articles for various publications. I'm passionate about this type of work and learning more about the nutritional benefits of bread because it combines two of my greatest passions: wellness and baking.
My Community
My community includes mainly yogis, sound healers, meditators, and my family. I teach yoga and meditation alongside my writing work. I use my findings in each discipline to support the other, in that I'm working closely with my students and readers to help them feel their best, inside and out. This type of training would only further my abilities to do just that.
How I use BALM Protocol
I'm hoping I'll use the knowledge to be less nervous when working with fermented items, and possibly be easier on myself when it isn't perfect. I'm hoping to find a greater sense of ease in the kitchen and find even more peace when I'm baking.
