Bake for Health Module

Bake For Health

BAKING AS LIFESTYLE MEDICINE IS UNDERPINNED BY THE BALM PROTOCOL

How your Bake For Health Module Works

Module content and schedule are all divided into three syllabi to follow the Oxbridge terms timetable below. Please follow the lesson in the syllabus, as this will guide you from the beginning as you learn how to bake sourdough, supporting your journey. Sourdough takes time to master, but over the year, you will learn how to truly connect to baking and sharing so beautifully that it will change how you live.

  1. Each week's schedule includes a 45-minute live session held on Thursday evenings at 7 pm (GMT) These sessions will change to (Tuesday from March 2024 ) The sessions provide an opportunity to discuss the tasks assigned throughout the course.
  2. The complete Bake for Health task library can be found here, but note that tasks are distributed throughout the syllabus during the year.
  3. Refrain from skipping ahead in the baking process or reading ahead in the course materials. The syllabus is designed as a guide, and it is regularly updated in the days leading up to each lesson. This dynamic approach is referred to as a living syllabus.
  4. To participate in this course, you are required to join the forum. Share your weekly bakes on the forum to contribute to the learning community. Your bakes are recorded and we check your participation in your posts, and you are required to demonstrate your participation by sharing your photos and observations.
  5. To stay informed about the weekly schedule, consult the timetable provided below. It contains tutorials and tasks related to the week's subject, which you should read or watch before participating in the live sessions.
  6. If invited to submit your bread, please use the Loaf Analysis Feedback Form before Wednesday afternoon, prior to the relevant 8 pm open session. As only one submission can be addressed per session, your patience is appreciated. This is the link Loaf Analysis Feedback Form.
  7. Questions for live sessions should be submitted in advance through the designated form. The instructor prioritizes pre-submitted questions. However, only questions relevant to the week's topic will be addressed during the live session to maintain focus on the syllabus. Please fill in this form.
  8. If you miss a session, you can typically catch up using the provided link, as sessions are recorded for your convenience. Catch up here
  9. It is crucial to complete your Self-Assessment Form during week 3 as you begin baking. This assessment helps you reflect on your progress and identify areas for improvement: Self-Assessment Form.

By adhering to these guidelines, you will ensure a productive and engaging learning experience for both yourself and your fellow participants.
